Congratulations to Carole Aubree-Dumont, alumni of the Creative Writing Programme, who won the Emerging Authors prize at this year’s Brighton Book Festival today with a reading from her memoir Dumb. Carole wins the opportunity to a have a 10,000 submission read by an agent at the prestigious Kate Nash literary agency, a mentoring session with the bestselling author Dorothy Koomson, a voucher for a Creative Writing Programme masterclass and other goodies.
Another huge well done to Tee Mukumbira who was named as the runner-up for her second-chance romance After Amsterdam. Tee is a first year student on the Creative Writing Programme and wins a one-to-one with Dorothy plus an extra masterclass.

“The Creative Writing Programme was an important stepping-stone in my early writing career. I learnt a lot about craft and commitment thanks to wonderful tutors, and also made long-term writer friends,” says Carole.
