Brighton’s largest library has been described as one of the most energy-efficient structures in England with natural energy used throughout. With three floors of books and a ground-floor café, it is a community hub in the heart of the city with excellent transport links.

First year Creative Writing Programme, starting September 2026 on Fridays 10.15-12.45pm taught by Bethan Roberts and Beth Miller.
Second year Creative Writing Programme, starting September 2026 on Wednesdays from 10.15-12.45pm. To discuss joining a second-year group, email us.
One-day masterclasses on different areas of the writing craft are held in the library in the Easter and summer holidays.
Taster sessions are being held at Jubilee Library on Friday 10th April 10.15-12.15pm and Friday 11 September 10.15-12.15pm so you can see if the course is for you.

Getting to the Jubliee Library
By train: Jubilee Library is a 10-minute walk downhill from Brighton station where there are regular trains from London Victoria, London Bridge and towns along the south coast.
By Bus: A variety of buses stop near the library
North Street (Stops A, B, C): Most major Brighton & Hove buses stop here, just south of the library, including services 1, 1A, 5, 5A, 5B, 7, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 46, 49, and 50.
Church Street: Located immediately north of the library, served by various local routes.
Queen's Road: Located to the west of the library, providing easy access from the train station
By Car: There are several car parks near the library:
Trafalgar Street Car Park (BN1 4DY/BN1 4DZ): A 275-space, 24/7 multi-storey, barrier-controlled car park located very close to the library and North Laine area.
North Road Car Park (BN1 1YE): Features 165 spaces and is approximately a 6–7 minute walk from the library.
The Lanes Car Park (BN1 1ND): A 355-space, 24/7 multi-storey, barrier-controlled car park, roughly a 10–13 minute walk away.
Churchill Square Shopping Centre (BN1 2RG): Offers a large capacity (Red and Green car parks) and is about a 12–15 minute walk.
Regency Mews Secure Car Parking (BN1 2HF): A smaller, secure option with 24/7 security cameras.
Accessibility
Jubilee Library is wheelchair accessible in all areas of the building. There is a lift to the upper floor and mezzanine floors where the classes are held. There is also a disabled toilet and a disabled parking bay close to the building
